The delay in the auction of 3G spectrum has steered debate across the country whether India should skip 3G and leapfrog to 4G directly. The ITU and IEEE have identified that 4G will have data download speed of 100 mega bit per second and it is completely based on IP technology. Though people may talk to have deployed or developed 4G, it is still ‘3.9G’ technology. There have been a number of claims on the deployment and development of 4G technologies in some parts of the world but in reality there is no equipment. Actually the equipment is under development. The deployment happened so far has seen data transfer speed of 70 mbps only, which is less than the expectation from 4G. However 4G technologies as defined by IEEE will have download speed of 100 mbps whereas 3G can support speed up to 2 mbps.
India should leapfrog to 4G and skip 3G as there had been too much delay in the auction of spectrum. The 5Mhz for 3G can support 4G deployment but it is just enough. It requires 10 Mhz at least for proper operation of 4G. It can be done in the bandwidth that government has declared for BWA spectrum auction.

Everyone know that china lacks only in English language other than that in all the technology they are at the first place even in the sports. India is falling behind China in its attempts to increase the use of English, risking squandering a key economic advantage, a new report announced. A “huge shortage” of teachers and quality institutions means China may now have more people who speak English than India. Only less than five per cent of the Indian population speaks English, which would mean that only about 55 million people in India will be fluent English speakers by 2010.
In comparison China adds 20 million English speakers each year as a result of new education policies that require English to be a compulsory subject in primary schools. Actually China had 200 million English users in 1995. India’s emergence as a major software and IT hub has in part been possible due to its English-educated workers, but English is a “casualty of wider problems in Indian education”. The rate of improvement in the English language skills of the Indian population is at present too slow to prevent India from falling behind other countries which have implemented the teaching of English in primary schools sooner
